World Cup winning midfielder Denilson has announced a sensational return, 12 years after originally retiring from football.
The 44-year-old winger has agreed a deal with Brazilian lower league side Ibis Sport Club as he looks to comeback following a successful career.
Denilson made 61 caps for Brazil between the years of 1996 and 2003 – he even won the World Cup back in 2002.

Denilson was the world’s most expensive player when he moved from Sao Paulo to Real Betis
Prior to his World Cup success, he became the world’s most expensive player when he made the switch from Sao Paulo to Real Betis in 1998 for £21.5million.
Denilson, however, initially retired in 2010 after spells with Greek second-tier side Kavala and Vietnamese outfit Hai Phong.
But now he is set to get his boots back on to play in the Campeonato Pernambucano, the highest level of state football in the region of Pernambuco.
‘I can talk now! IT’S OFFICIAL! The invitation appeared and reflecting with my family… the father here decided to return to football after 12 years,’ Denilson tweeted after confirming the move.
‘From today I wear the shirt of @ibismania!’
The Brazilian is best known for his time at Spanish outfit Real Betis where he played 196 times
Ibis said: ‘With Ibis, nothing is impossible. Last year, we went up to the first…And this year…THE IMPOSSIBLE HAPPENED AGAIN!’
The Brazilian is perhaps best remembered for his time at Real Betis – where he spent seven years, playing 196 times, while he also made 191 appearances for Sao Paulo.
Denilson also had spells at Bordeaux, FC Dallas, in Saudi Arabia, in Vietnam and in Greece.
