A drowned deer was given a new lease of life by one passerby who performed mouth-to-mouth resuscitation on the animal.
The footage shows the unconscious and unresponsive deer lying by the bank of the El Novillo river in Mexico.
The unnamed man is seen lifting up the neck of the animal, which looks relatively young, and pumps deep breathes from his own lungs down the neck of the deer.

After the first attempt, the young deer’s head is seen moving slightly and its eyes twitch as it struggles to breath.
The man then tries to resuscitate the deer again, this time the deer flinches drastically as it looks around in an attempt to get its bearing.
Yet it appears to fall lifeless, and the man holds the deer’s neck up to try to encourage the animal to breath for itself.

Finally, the deer is brought back to life where the animal tries to get back onto its leg to run away from the man, although it looks confused as to what has happened
The man, who talks in Spanish to a friend in between trying to resuscitate the deer, then takes another few big breathes down the neck of the animal where he finally manages to bring it back to life.
He is able to lift the deer onto its four legs, where it tries to run away immediately, but the man holds the animal, which looks confused as to what has just happened.
As the deer regains some composure, the animal is heard bleating and runs off into the distance as the person filming the deer lets out a happy sigh of relief.
