Fans all over the world mourned the loss of the talented 23-year-old singer who made Tejano music more mainstream. And soon after every image, song and interview of the charismatic star, who was portrayed by Jennifer Lopez in a 1997 movie, were dug up.
But one was left behind. And on Friday the Smithsonian’s National Museum of American History released recently unearthed video of the beauty that has not aired for decades.

The Smithsonian has said the interview was discovered in a TV camera donated by Univision, the parent company of San Antonio’s KWEX-TV.
The clip was filmed in 1994, a year before she died from a gunshot wound.
She was being interviewed by TV program Tejano USA.

Selena was on the verge of becoming a huge international star when she was gunned down by her fan club president Yolanda who is still in prison.
Lopez has said that she was a big fan of Selena and felt that she paved the way by doing not just music but also fashion design.
She told Billboard: ‘The grace with which she handled the business, the grace with which she handled her life, the humor. Her spirit of loving what she did. Her sense of family.
