Johnny Carson’s former home in Malibu is on the market for $81.5million.

The famous talk show host bought the 7,083-sq-ft home for $9.5million in 1984 and spent time there into the later years of his life.

He is best known for his 30-year run on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson from 1962 to 1992. He received six Emmy awards during his time as the host. He was inducted into the Television Academy Hall of Fame in 1987.

The home was acquired by fashion mogul and film producer Sidney Kimmel for about $46 million in 2007, two year’s after Carson’s death. 

The luxurious four-acre estate is situated on a bluff in Point Dume, an area that is now known as a celebrity enclave.

The five-bedroom home has four and a half baths and four fireplaces. 

The house is furnished with warm-hued wood panels and indoor plants that gives it an outdoorsy feel.

Carson had helped popularized the Point Dume area as a celebrity neighborhood. 

Carson was famously protective of his privacy, and Point Dume offered him isolation.

In 2005, Point Dume was the home of celebrities like Barbra Streisand, Bob Dylan, and Martin Sheen.
