  • Caitiee, 17, wanted dimples in her face so went in for a face piercing in Dublin
  • But the mother-of-one soon realised something was wrong and her face swelled
  • She claims the piercer is refusing to take any blame for the botched procedure

These horrific pictures show the aftermath of a botched piercing on a teenager’s bloody and swollen face.

Caitiee, 17, was left bleeding for four days from what should have been a routine procedure at a well-known piercer in Dublin.

The mother-of-one told Dublin Live she wanted dimples and stumbled across the piercing procedure as a way of getting them.

Painful: Caitiee, 17, was left bleeding for four days from what should have been a routine procedure at a well-known piercer in Dublin

She had a bar and two balls put into her face three weeks ago but soon realised something was wrong.

She said: ‘I can’t even describe the pain of that one, I thought I was going to pass out, she kind of looked at it for a few minutes and it swelled straight away.

‘She said “that swelled a bit much and it’s going over the bar”, so she went and got the owner of the shop and he said “it’ll be grand, it’s grand, just do the other side”.

‘When he was standing over I noticed that he told her to do the other side differently.’

Even before she had left the shop her right cheek had swollen ‘like a balloon’ and by the time she woke up the next day the entire right side of her face was swollen and her lip was numb.

She went to hospital and a doctor told her the piercing had not been done properly and warned her she may have burst a blood vessel.

But they refused to remove the piercing over worries it could go septic.

Caitiee, who three weeks on still has a lump and pain in her face, claims the piercer is refusing to accept responsibility for the operation.
