Lucy, 25, shared the photos with her 114,000 Instagram followers to help those who suffer with bloating feel less alone.

‘Sometimes your body just doesn’t digest things the way it should/we want it to,’ she wrote in the caption.

‘For me, this used to = stress which turns out makes it even worse. It would turn into this vicious cycle I would keep going over and over.’

Lucy, who is based in Sydney, revealed that she used to get ‘so upset’ every time her body reacted this way.

‘I would be in a terrible mood, feel so down about myself and be super uncomfortable,’ she said.

Although she has been able to beat the bloat for the last few months, Lucy found herself fighting it once again after she ate something her body didn’t agree with.

‘Whatever you do, don’t beat yourself up or get stressed out if you are bloated, it’s totally normal!’ she wrote.

‘Main thing to remember is that being bloated doesn’t change how fit you are and there are always ways to help yourself!

Lucy revealed that taking probiotics, drinking peppermint tea, and cutting out certain foods from her diet have been key to fighting her bloating problems.

‘Even then, this can still happen so don’t stress too much and try to LOVE the body you have,’ she added. ‘You only have one after all.’

‘Gut health is so important but so easily brushed off.’

Lucy’s goal was to get a toned stomach when she first started her fitness journey, and she worked hard to obtain the six pack of her dreams.

‘My first realisation was abs really are made in the kitchen,’ Lucy recently wrote on her blog.

‘Obviously this should be combined with training, but the food you are putting into your body really does make a huge difference, not only to your weight but to your skin, hair, everything.’

She explained that for most people the hardest part to get rid of is the fat in your lower stomach.

Lucy suggested cutting out refined carbs such as white bread, pasta, rice and cereals to help combat this.

She added that foods like sweet potato, quinoa and extra vegetables can work to replace them.

Surprisingly, Lucy’s second tip was to not do ‘1,000 sit ups every day’ – which she revealed won’t help give you abs.

‘Your muscles need time to recover, so doing abs every day of the week will not aid your progress,’ she wrote.

‘This is why I like to promote doing a variety of exercise throughout the week.’

Lucy also adds weights to her workouts to tone her body and build muscle as she believes it helps speed up your metabolism.

Lucy also revealed that HIIT (high intensity interval training) was, personally, the most effective form of training for losing fat.

‘There are so many different ways you can do HIIT and it’s an easy transition into exercise,’ she wrote.

‘If you do the same HIIT workout each week you will notice yourself getting stronger, which will spur you on to keep going!’
