Video shows passengers flee Euston station in evacuation

Video shows commuters fleeing Euston station as it was evacuated hours after 11 pedestrians were injured outside the capital’s Natural History Museum.

A driver mounted the pavement in South Kensington, west London, at 2:20pm today in what police say was not a terror attack.

But with the country’s current terror threat level set at severe following a string of attacks this year, London’s Euston station was evacuated at 6.19pm.

Footage of the evacuation shows passengers exiting the station, where armed police vehicles were spotted as British Transport Police investigated.

Luka France shared the clip on Twitter, writing: ‘Euston station being evacuated loads of screaming and police.’ 

In another, police are seen rushing to the station as it is evacuated, with the video showing people fleeing.

Twitter user @aavirbhav warned: ‘Ladies and Gents stay away from Euston station… armed vehicles and everything xx’

The evacuation was reportedly caused by somebody suspecting suspicious activity in the station.

The station was reopened at 6.39pm after British Transport Police failed to find anything suspicious.

A man was arrested in west London after the black Toyota Prius minicab crashed into the crowd.

He was pinned to the ground by security guards and arrested as hundreds of terrified tourists fled the scene.

Police have described the incident as a ‘road traffic collision’.
