A sports journalist has revealed what really happens when filming The Amazing Race Australia.
Josh Garlepp shared footage to his TikTok account recently of two contestants from the 2022 season having to re-do the same scene multiple times for the cameraman.
The contestants were keen to run off to their next destination after reading out directions, only to be told by producers to ‘go again’.

Josh, who was observing the takes, captioned the clip: ‘If anyone says reality TV is real show them this.’
He also captioned the post: ‘No wonder it’s a race, wasted so much time doing takes, I was walking by.’
Filming for the 2022 series appears to be well and truly underway after a number of Covid-19 cases broke out on set last month.

TV Blackbox reported at the time that production on the Channel Ten show had been ‘thrown into chaos’.
Due to isolation requirements, members of the production crew, supervising producers and even host Beau Ryan were said to be off duty.
In a statement to TV Blackbox last month, a Channel Ten spokesperson said that filming will continue.
‘There have been a small number of positive COVID cases detected within the production of The Amazing Race Australia, but filming on the upcoming season has not been impacted,’ the statement read.

‘The crew that are affected are in isolation while the production continues.’
The Amazing Race Australia is returning to Channel Ten for a sixth season in 2022 and according to the official casting website, filming commenced in February.
Applicants had to be in teams of two, aged over 18, available for up to seven weeks, and fully vaccinated against Covid.

The show is being filmed at a secret overseas destination.
The last season was shot in Newell Beach, Queensland, due to Covid restrictions.
Despite filming abroad, the production company has confirmed strict Covid-safe protocols are implemented on set.
