Hilarious gallery reveals toddlers’ hide-and-seek FAILS

Even if you’ve never played it before, the idea behind hide-and-seek is child’s play – find a spot where no-one can see you and don’t move a muscle.

However, for the collection of youngsters – and some pets – in a comical new gallery, it wasn’t quite so straightforward.

Clearly going with the ‘if I can’t see them, they can’t see me’ way of thinking, the images show partially-concealed pets and toddlers looking anything but hidden.

Nothing to see here! A toddler sort of gets it, but the transparent material she’s chosen to hide behind – a net curtain – gives her away

The clearly visible frame of a young pre-schooler can be seen behind a net curtain in one shot, while a pair of legs sticking out from under a sofa cushion raises a chuckle in another.

The pets are equally as misguided. A cat hides behind a slender pole, its curvy feline frame as clear as day.

The squashed face of a pooch can be seen stuffed between couch cushions and, in another photo fail, a crouching tot tries to conceal themselves into a shelving unit, with their legs and bottom not quite fitting in.

The logic was there...but not being shaped like a cube didn't help this child

A sister chuckles as her sibling conceals himself – badly – as a lamp shade. Right: the old net curtain trick doesn’t work for this hound
