The fashion elite and A-listers descended on the steps of New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art for the annual Met Gala on the first Monday in May decked out in spectacular, outrageous and outright bizarre outfits.
Fashion Critical, a mystery satirical troll from Australia shared her analysis of each look post-event in a 81-image gallery with their best and worst dressed celebrities of the night.
This year’s Met Gala theme, which always gives the stars an opportunity to be more daring with their fashion choices, was Gilded Glamour and saw corsets, sequins, and puffy skirts a-plenty on the red carpet.
From hailing Blake Lively as the queen of the carpet to dubbing Kylie Jenner’s gown a ‘crime against couture’ and even likening Gig Hadid’s red cape to ’12 sleeping bags sewn together’, the brazen fashion reviewer didn’t hold back with their critiques.

Supermodel Irina Shayk’s Burberry biker suit the complete with a leather shirt and tie confused Fashion Critical who asked: ‘Da FUQ event did you think you were dressing for Irena? I would really like to hear how the designer felt this was on theme’.
Singer Lily Allen’s ‘drab’ Chanel dress was adorned with ‘rainbow fraggle pubes’, and Fashion Critical thought Game of Thrones actress Maisie William’s white corset and pleated black floor length skirt was so bad they were ‘sending condolences to her family’.
‘I can’t see a tight jumpsuit without feeling a bit unwashed. Add diamanté pubes and I just can’t even,’ they said of Dakota Johnson’s Gucci one-piece.
BEST ON THE RED CARPET
Fashion Critical, like many fellow red carpet analysist, dubbed Blake Lively, 34, as the queen of the Met Gala carpet for her incredible colour changing Versace copper gown.
As a homage to the Statue of Liberty and New York architecture in the Gilded Age, Lively started the carpet in a stunning rose gold dress then as she continued up the Met stairs, the skirt was unraveled revealing the aquamarine underside.
‘The absolute QUEEN of the Met Gala for the last eleventy twenty years, Blake Lively rocked up in this MAGNIFICENT creation. The theme this year is “Gilded Glamour” and if this isn’t that then I don’t even know,’ they said.
