Everyone’s going crazy for Rachael Finch’s mango technique

As we edge closer to summer, supermarkets are filling up with juicy mangoes.

And while they are a snack of choice for people across the country, many become frustrated with the fiddly and often wasteful peeling process.

But Australian model and presenter, Rachael Finch, 29, has come up with an unusual technique that takes just a matter of seconds – and the secret is a wine glass.

On top of this, the method also ensures all of the flesh is removed from the skin.

Rachael posted the video on Instagram and Facebook on the weekend where she can be seen implementing the hack.

‘I learnt this when I did Masterchef back in 2009 lol! I lived near a cute little french cafe (@bittongourmet) & walked in one day to ask if they could help me prepare for the show!’ her caption read.

‘I was so lucky to get hands on experience inside the kitchen & learnt so many amazing tricks for the kitchen & cooking!’

Previously a Brisbane man shared his own technique to peeling the skin off a mango.

In a how-to video, Gene Downs from Brisbane, shows mango-enthusiasts a different way of peeling off the skin using only a knife and a spoon.

Mr Downs uses the knife and pierces only the skin around the fruit before using the spoon to dig under the piercing, running it around the cheek of the fruit and peeling off the skin.

‘Sometimes it’s not simple, but it’s pretty easy to do. And we run him under here and just pop its skin off,’ Mr Downs said.

Mr Downs said his technique is easy but can be a little tricky

'Look at that, you'll be able to knife nice little diamond or squares out of it like that,' Mr Downs said
