Raquel Welch dons bizarre bee-keepers’ style hat

She spent much of her career being referred to as a sex symbol, which started with her iconic bikini-clad appearance in One Million Years B.C.

And Raquel Welch showed how she stays looking so young as she stepped out for a stroll on her 77th birthday in Angeles last month.

The Bedazzled actress looked worlds away from her signature bombshell image with a scarf tied over a large hat which looked more like a beekeeper’s outfit than that of a Hollywood legend.

Protecting her skin from California’s intense rays, the make-up free star showed off her natural beauty and radiant complexion by going make-up free for the stroll.

She traded her usual glittering ballgowns for a casual look of a lemon yellow sweater, pink cardigan and jogging bottoms, which showed off her svelte physique.

Despite the actress’ incredibly smooth skin, she has always insisted that she has not had surgical help maintaining the glamour of her Sixties heyday.

Instead, Raquel, who became a sex symbol in the 1967 film One Million Years BC, champions looking after herself in the ‘same way you maintain your home’.

Her regime is believed to include eating a low-carb diet, along with an hour-and-a-half of yoga each day and bizarre beauty regime which includes Bag Balm – a product which is said to banish wrinkles and is used by farmers to soothe their cows’ skin if it becomes sore.

Meanwhile, despite her stunning good looks and sparkling charisma, Raquel currently remains single.

When asked in 2015 why she thinks her four marriages didn’t work out, she told Piers Morgan that she’s rather content alone.

She explained: ‘Because I’m too set in my ways. I like what I do, I actually enjoy being me and I make a very good living at it and I’m happy. I don’t have to have a man,’

Welch separated from her fourth husband restaurateur Richard Palmer in 2003, after four years of marriage.

She was previously married to actor and producer André Weinfeld from 1980 until 1990, and before him there was Patrick Curtis, a producer, to whom she was married in 1967 until 1972.

Her first husband, who she got her name from, was James Welch: they were married for five years, from 1959 until 1964.

She has two children from this marriage, Damon, 57, and Latanne, 55.
