‘We are very hopeful we can keep him here,’ Walters said.
‘We see Selwyn as a long-term player for our club, we love what he brings, even at such a young age. He has played some great footy this year which is great for us as a team and great for Broncos fans.
‘Selwyn looks good in Maroon and we intend on keeping him here for many years.’
Cobbo, who is averaging 114 metres per game and has racked up four line breaks and 35 tackles busts through nine rounds, faces Manly when the the Sea Eagles take on the Broncos in Magic Round at Suncorp Stadium on Friday.

The teenager bagged two tries in Brisbane’s 32-12 thrashing of Souths at Accor Stadium last week and he could feature again on the same stage next month in a Queensland jersey.
‘I have been so impressed with Selwyn Cobbo,’ Maroons coach Billy Slater, who was a year older than Cobbo when he made his Origin debut, said.
‘I will make a decision on Selwyn in a few weeks time, but for me, your age is your age and you only get experience in Origin by experiencing the actual game.

‘If we feel Selwyn is the best person to fill a position in our team, we’ll pick him, but if other people are better credentialed, then we will back those guys.
‘But age is not a concern for me. It is not a barrier for me.’
The eight-placed Broncos head into Magic Round looking for a fourth consecutive win, while seventh-placed Manly hope to clinch a second straight win.
