Toddlers and babies as young as six-months-old could soon be eligible for a Covid vaccine

Babies as young as six-months-old and toddlers up to the age of five may soon be able to get a Covid jab.
The Therapeutic Goods Administration have confirmed they’re assessing an application by Moderna to extend its Spikevax vaccine to young children.
The jab is approved for kids aged six and over, but now a low dose of the vaccine is under assessment to be administered to younger children.
Currently there are no approved Covid vaccines for Australian kids under the age of five.

On Friday, the TGA confirmed it is assessing using a low dose of Spikevax.
This dose would include 25 micrograms in 0.25ml of the vaccine – which is below the 50 micrograms in 0.25ml measurement that is currently used for children aged six to 11.
It comes after yet another weekend full of protests from Aussies demanding an end to vaccine mandates.
Sydney and Melbourne CBDs were packed with thousands of disgruntled residents, many carrying homemade signs blasting policies on vaccinations.

Flyers for the rally appeared under the banners for organisations including the Australian Freedom Rally, RiseUp Sydney, Millions Marsh, The People’s Revolution and Reclaim the Line
One protester held up a banner reading: ‘Serve the people, no big pharma, no govt coercion, no police bullying’.
Surprisingly, the protestors also took the opportunity to urge voters to put the major politicals parties last at the federal election on May 21.
Others were seen chanting outside the headquarters of Victoria Police.
NSW, Victoria and Western Australia saw the biggest jumps in Covid cases on Saturday.
NSW saw another 10,954 infections, Victoria recorded 12,160 cases and WA’s Covid tally climbed by 13,162.
