Jamiroquai front man Jay Kay has tied the knot with the mother of his two children, Maria.
Thanking his ‘wife’ in his BMI London awards acceptance speech on Monday night, the 47-year-old let slip that he had married his other half after 10 years together.
Glamorous Maria – with whom he welcomed two daughters, Carla, two, and five months old Tallulah, during his six-year musical hiatus – was there to support the musician on the night.
Married man: Jamiroquai’s Jay Kay let slip that he’d tied the knot with his other half Maria on Monday night, as he gave an acceptance speech at BMI London awards
An insider told MailOnline on Tuesday: ‘Jay Kay did a shout to his wife and two daughters when he was on the stage collecting his award.
‘The audience seemed a bit surprised because he wasn’t wearing a wedding ring on his left hand and I don’t think anyone even knew he was off the market.’
A representative for Jay Kay has been contacted by MailOnline for further comment.

In an interview with The Times newspaper in April, Jay Kay hinted that he had settled down with his ‘missus’ and children.
‘I am totally serious about my missus and kids,’ he shared. ‘My biological dad and my mum were adopted, my identical twin died and my parents split. There’s a whole history of insecurity there. And so this is it.
‘I am the dad for my girls. Forever. I don’t want them calling any other man ‘Daddy’. They’ve got me for life.’

Back on stage: On the night, the singer also performed for the BMI audience
He described the moment that he met his now-wife as a Sliding Doors moment in 2007, when he decided to jump out of a taxi to greet her on a chance meeting in London, many years after they first knew each other.
‘I recognised Maria’s face from a little skirmish we’d had abroad years previously. Our meeting again was a real ‘Sliding Doors’ moment.
‘I’ve always wanted a family, but I’d reached 45 and wondered if it would ever happen. I’m a touch late, but it’s brilliant…’
Famous 1998 film Sliding Doors, starring Gwyneth Paltrow, features two alternate realities – love stories which play out in parallel – based on whether or not she catches a train.
Frontman Jay Kay picked up the BMI President’s Award because of his ‘originality, which has inspired generations of musicians and fans alike,’ on Monday.
On the night, Jay Kay said of the award: ‘I’m very happy to receive this award tonight, it’s been 30 years since I began a career in music, and I’m lucky to still be able to do my thing and express it through songs.
‘There’s still no better buzz really, than starting off with that ‘thing’ in your head and letting it get to the stage where you hear it on the radio, in front of loads of people, all over the world, it’s a real privilege.’

Jamiroquai, who also performed on the night, have returned to the music scene after many years away.
In May, Jay Kay was recovering from spinal surgery that left him immobalised and threatened to jeopardise tour dates that followed the release of the band’s eighth studio album, Automaton.
In his heyday, Jamiroquai’s lead singer was known for his promiscuity and womanising ways.
His most famous relationship was with The Big Breakfast’s Denise van Outen, which last for three years in the late Nineties.
Many speculate that his songs that followed were written about the bubbly blonde, even though he insisted that she was the one to spill on their relationship.
In 2005, he sniped: ‘When it comes to things like that I’m a gentleman and I don’t want to talk about it, but I think Denise saw it a different way.
Top performer: With his signature hat dipped over his face, the musician was in his element
What he does best: Though he has returned to music, Jay Kay says it makes him miss his children
Settled down: The singer called his wife his ‘missus’ in April, after they settled down with two kids
‘It was a case of walking into the local petrol station and seeing 17 different magazines with her on the cover talking about how she had to finish it…’
Then, following a fling with actress Winona Rider, he said he hoped to find Mrs Right, describing his ideal woman ‘as a nice brunette with nice shoes’.
He said he was ‘done’ with fornicating with groupies and gave explicit insight into Winona’s sexual appetite in a crude chat with FHM magazine.
Former flames: Jay Kay famously dated The Big Breakfast’s Denise Van Outen (here in 2000)
Relationship breakdown: The duo were together for three-years before she spilled the beans about their split to the magazines
‘She has these enormous breasts,’ he divulged. ‘Bigger than they look on film. She did have this habit of constantly wanting to play hide the sausage. It was exhausting.
At the time, he said he was hoping to find Mrs Right, telling the magazine: ‘I don’t do groupies anymore. I did all that in my 20s That’s what you do when you get your first tour bus.
‘I did the rounds, I got my stripes, but these days I want something marginally more serious.’ He added: ‘I’ve got a wicked shoe fetish… Women have to keep them on with me.’
Lost love: He is also believed to have had a fling with model Heidi Klum (here in 2003)
Liaison: The pair appeared together in his music video Love Foolosophy in 2002)
