Craig Robinson discusses impressive 50lb weight loss

He starred as everyone’s favorite co-worker Darryl Philbin on the long-running American comedy show, The Office.

And while Craig Robinson has kept audiences laughing for decades, he became more serious about his health this year after taking on a vegan lifestyle.

The 45-year-old actor spoke with Harry Connick Jr. on his talk show about how he lost ‘a bunch of weight’ by eliminating alcohol and adopting a healthier mindset.

‘I lost about 50 pounds,’ the Hot Tub Time Machine star said during the interview to air Wednesday, Oct. 11. ‘I haven’t been drinking. Since January… I just put down the alcohol.

‘I was going to detox… I had heard, I don’t know how true it is, but I heard you can regenerate your liver in six months. I was like let me see if I can go six months and I just haven’t gone back.’

The funny man also admitted that along with cutting back on alcohol and adding more movement in to his daily routine, he’s eliminated meat and meat products from his new diet.

‘Then working out and I’ve been trying this vegan lifestyle too … It’s amazing,’ the Pineapple Express actor said. ‘There are so many great vegan restaurant and dishes.’ 

While Craig admitted that the vegan lifestyle is ‘much easier than I thought it would be,’ he told Harry that he misses ‘mac and cheese’ the most.

Robinson’s latest endeavor is portraying a mall cop and former detective who is skeptic about the presence of supernatural beings in Los Angeles in Fox’s new comedy, Ghosted, which debuted on the network Oct. 1.

The Mr. Robot actor pairs up with a former Stanford professor – Adam Scott – to investigate unexplained activities happening around town.

The polar opposite characters are recruited by an organization called The Bureau Underground to attack paranormal activity in Los Angeles.

Robinson’s staying busy as ever with the release of slasher-comedy flick Tragedy Girls in October and films An Evening with Beverly Luff Linn and Zeroville set for release in 2018.

He’ll also lend his voice as Stew in the super-villain animated film Henchmen with Rosario Dawson and James Marsden.
