Vegan activist Tash Peterson inundated with death threats over controversial stunts

A controversial vegan and animal rights activist known for her topless and semi-naked protests has called out trolls who sent death threats and vile messages which left her in fear for her life.

Tash Peterson has opened up about the threats and shocking abuse she receives online on a daily basis from not only men but also women as she continues to make headlines over her outrageous stunts, some of which have seen her hauled before the courts and fined.

On Wednesday night, the West Australian young vegan shared a series of vile messages she’d recently received from a critic who hoped she would die.

‘You should try catching a moving bullet you stupid c***,’ he wrote.

‘Walk out in front of a moving train you ugly piece of s***.’

Other messages threatened rape. Daily Mail Australia has chosen not to publish other comments due to their nature.

Ms Peterson, 28, said she receives similar messages on a daily basis.

‘There have been a few occasions where I’ve literally feared for my life, terrified to come home because I’d received a message from a man telling me that he was coming to rape and murder me,’ she captioned the screenshot.

‘Most of these sick messages come from insecure men, but also some women as well. Calling me a s**t, skank, whore, disgusting, etc.’

Ms Peterson asked how the troll would feel if similar messages were sent to his wife and children.

‘Suicide rates are rapidly increasing because of online bullying and it is beyond shameful that the police do nothing to stop it (from my experiences anyway),’ she added.

Ms Peterson claims she has been to the police station multiple times to report death threats but claimed nothing was done.

‘People are going to respond to this saying that I’m getting what I deserve, a taste of my own medicine,’ she continued.

‘The truth is that I have NEVER called anyone derogatory names, threatened someone or abused someone. I am a non violent activist trying to stop violence, rape, abuse, torture, enslavement and murder of non-human animals in animal agriculture.’

Ms Peterson is no stranger to controversy.

Her antics have led police and policymakers in WA to describe her as ‘Australia’s biggest pest’.

Ms Peterson has copped several fines for her semi-nude demonstrations which she has executed in designer stores, restaurants and supermarkets.

Last August, she marched topless through a Louis Vuitton store in Perth while smeared with her own menstrual blood. which later saw her fined $3,500 by a Perth magistrate.

The activist has also dressed up as a cow and demonstrated in the meat section of supermarkets, invaded the pitch at an AFLW match, and donned a blood-soaked apron while screaming at patrons in a KFC and Coles.

She also faced trial for a December 2020 protest at the Boatshed Markets in Cottesloe where she also appeared shirtless, with her chest painted in a cow pattern, and yelled at shoppers that cows were being raped for meat and dairy.

She and her partner Jack Higgs were also thrown out of an IGA supermarket in southern WA earlier this year for refusing to wear a face mask, calling her treatment an ‘injustice’ and a breach of her ‘human rights’.

She told Daily Mail Australia at the time they were ‘caught off guard’ by Premier Mark McGowan’s face mask mandate when they entered the store as they had not seen many people wearing them days earlier and had dined at a café where they didn’t need them.

She most recently led a semi-nude demonstration at Perth’s Hay Street Mall, where she refused calls police who ask her to cover up her chest covered only with pink body paint.
