Missing Corrie Kckeague’s daughter named Corrie

The girlfriend of missing Scottish airman Corrie Mckeague has given their daughter the middle name ‘Corrie’, it has been revealed today.

April Oliver discovered she was pregnant with the 23-year-old’s child after he went missing from Bury St Edmunds in Suffolk last September, and gave birth in June.

She revealed the name to the BBC after sharing a photo of their daughter, Ellie-Louise’s, first painting on the Find Corrie Facebook page today.

She wrote: ‘Some days are good and some are bad as I’m sure you can all imagine but it’s days like this when Ellie and I had fun in producing her very first paining that are good days.

‘I must say it came with slobber and mess but lots of giggles as I watched my daughter lay on the table and create this.

‘I can’t thank you all enough for the support that you have all given right from the start, it gets me through day to day, so I just wanted to share this little thing as it makes me so proud.’

Police yesterday started preparing a landfill site in Cambridgeshire as they got ready to resume the search for Corrie.

Workers at the rubbish tip in Milton have been busy filling in the old crater and preparing a new area as they continue their hunt.

Suffolk Police announced last week that they would be extending the search ‘after thorough consideration of all the issues involved.’

They said the Major Investigation Team had concluded the area of the original 20-week search was still the location where there was the highest likelihood of finding Corrie.

The extended search, which is likely to take four to six weeks, will concentrate on an area of Cell 22 next to the site of the earlier search.

Corrie was last seen in the area of Bury St Edmunds in Suffolk known as the ‘horseshoe’ where there was a bin lorry collection at around 4.15am – 4.20am on Saturday, 24 September, 2016.

Only one bin was collected from the area that morning. Waste from it was initially taken to a transfer station at Red Lodge and then to the Milton landfill site.

A review of the Suffolk police investigation is being conducted by the East Midlands Special Operations Unit (EMSOU).

The constabulary’s decision to extend the search is supported by the review team although its report has yet to be concluded.

Milton landfill site is around 485,623 square metres and Cell 22 measures 10,000 square metres.
