Newlyweds who flew to the Bahamas ‘missing for two weeks’

Friends and family of a Fort Worth couple hired search teams after the newlyweds vanished while flying a personal aircraft to the Bahamas for their honeymoon last month, it was reported on Tuesday.

Forrest and Donna Sanco flew to the Bahamas and arrived at their first stop on the island on September 25, according to relatives.

They have not been heard from or seen since the 26th of September, according to Fox 4 TV.

On September 26th, the couple posted an Instagram photo of a sunset in the Bahamas. That was the last communication from them.

The couple departed Fort Worth in their own Cessna 150 airplane over two weeks ago.

They were due to land on the island of Rum Cay, but they never made it there.

The Sancos were last heard from on September 26, when they landed in North Eleuthera, Bahamas.

According to a GoFundMe page that has been set up, the couple refueled their plane there before setting off for Rum Cay.

The family set up the GoFundMe page in order to fund a private search team to look for the Sancos.

So far, they have raised more than half of the $20,000 goal.

Initially, the family asked for help from the local authorities in the Bahamas, but the recent hurricanes that destroyed many of the islands in the Caribbean has stretched government resources extremely thin.

‘We were able to hire two separate private search-and-rescue teams with aircraft to scour the area,’ Donna Sanco’s daughter-in-law, Erin Simmons, told CBS 11 TV.
