Families of victim and killer clash outside court

The respective families of a victim and killer have clashed violently outside court after a man was convicted of murder.

Sydney man Diego Carbone was found guilty of killing father-of-two Bradley Dillon after luring him to an underground car park to discuss a $2000 debt.

The NSW Supreme Court jury on Thursday found Carbone, 26, murdered Mr Dillon, 25, who the trial heard was shot and stabbed after being lured to a Leichhardt car park in 2014. The jury had begun deliberating on Tuesday.

The families of the two men clashed outside court after the verdict was read.

‘Stop it, stop it,’ a woman could be heard yelling, while another said ‘piss off’.

‘Got one brother on death row and the other one locked up the f**king maggot,’ one woman screamed as she walked away from court.

Some of the family members tried to stop others from engaging, saying ‘come here mate, it’s not worth it man’.

Another jury – discharged in September after a witness and a juror realised they were neighbours – had been told Mr Dillon had been chasing repayment of $2000 his sister lent to a member of the Saint Michael Fight Club.

Soon after, a passerby heard five loud bangs and saw two men – one wearing a green jersey – running down the street.

Mr Dillon then stumbled out of the car park and collapsed on the street outside Leichhardt’s MarketPlace about 5.30pm on August 11, 2014.

DNA from the victim and Carbone was found on a piece of green cloth at the scene, which the Crown had argued was consistent with Carbone having his shirt grabbed by Mr Dillon.

Carbone’s DNA was also found under one of Mr Dillon’s fingernails.

Carbone will be sentenced at a later date.
