Comedian Jason Manford surprised his 93-year-old nan with a copy of his first music album, which he had to buy at Tesco after leaving his version at home.
In his first foray into music, the 36-year-old has recorded a series of show tunes from well known musicals and artists for his first studio album A Different Stage.
After showing his grandmother the dedication he wrote to her on the inside of the cover and playing her favourite song, he reduced the pensioner to tears.
‘That’s why I make music,’ he quipped. ‘To make older ladies cry.’
The two clips, which he posted on Facebook for his 1.3 million Facebook followers four days ago have now been viewed more than 240,000 times.

Filming the encounter on his phone, Manford initially appears sitting behind the wheel of his car, looking perplexed as he works out he has left a copy of the album meant for his nan at home.
He then saunters into Tesco to pick up a copy of A Different Stage before the cashier recognises him as the man on the cover.
In a somewhat damning comment, she says: ‘If my mother was still alive, she’d probably like that.’
Manford then goes to his grandmother’s house where she is watching the ITV show he presents – Bigheads – at full volume.
Turning down the TV, he gives the album to his nan and shows her the inscription he wrote to her.
He reads out: ‘Finally to my grandad and nana Manford – Charlie and Leah – who every Sunday at their house would play so many old songs and tunes from musicals that they became ingrained in my own musical taste to this day.

‘This record is for them, especially you Nana who at 92 years old has finally got her way and can hopefully spend many more Sunday afternoons to come listening to her favourite grandson’s records.’
She then interrupts him to correct her age, adding: ‘I’m 93, going to be 94!’
He then jokes that he has brought her the CD as she is the only person he knows who still has a CD player.
Manford then plays his version of It’s Impossible by Perry Como to her, singing along, as she listens to the music, joining in at the end.
As she clutches a paper tissue as adds: ‘You have a tear there.’
