Bachelorette’s Sam says rival Jarrod ‘terrified’ the guys

The Victorian vineyard manager’s intense infatuation for Bachelorette Sophie Monk has seen him dubbed a ‘stage five clinger’ by devoted fans.

And now Jarrod Woodgate’s recently rejected rival Samual Cochran has revealed what the guys in the mansion REALLY thought of the eligible bachelor.

Samual, 31, told NW Magazine: ‘We are all actually terrified of him.’

The over-confident voiceover artist was asked to leave the Bachelorette mansion on Thursday night, but he suggests Jarrod’s eventual dumping will be hard to watch.

‘I wouldn’t want to be in the room when he doesn’t get a rose… I’d be out of there!’ he said.

Noting how his fellow contestants feared Jarrod, Sam continued: ‘He is from the military and could kill you!’

During a competitive bicycle polo challenge last week, Sam also warned intruder A.J of Jarrod’s intensity: ‘Watch out, AJ. Jarrod’s got his Terminator eye on you.’

Sophie has even defended Jarrod as a ‘lovely guy’ in a recent interview with KIIS FM’s Hughesy And Kate.

The blonde bombshell said: ‘People are saying he’s a creep. He is not a creep at all. Not one bit.’

Jarrod has also spoken out about his controversial appearance on the show.

In an interview with TV Week, he has insisted his appearances has been editing to look a certain way and has even suggested that producers encouraged him to do things to get Sophie Monk’s attention.

‘The way they’ve portrayed me, they’ve just focused on what people hate,’ the 31-year-old said.

He continued: ‘They’ve made me look a lot more extreme than I actually am.’

The vineyard manager also said that he was told by producers ‘to grab Sophie’s attention whenever possible.’

Jarrod added: ‘The more of an effort you make, the more likely you’ll stay on the show.’

The Melbourne-based star was recently forced to hand over his Instagram account to his sister when trolls flooded his feed with expletives and abuse.

He told Confidential last week that he’s fed up with the derogatory comments he receives via social media.

Speaking to his trolls, the publication reported him as saying: ‘If you do have an issue, private message me, I don’t care.’

The 31-year-old also defended his ‘stage five clinger’ behaviour to The Daily Telegraph, insisting: ‘I’m actually just trying to be a genuine loving caring guy.’

Jarrod secured the first kiss of the series with Sophie and has appeared to be smitten with the blonde bombshell ever since.

In recent episodes he has been quick to point out similarities between himself and Sophie, and has presented the former Bardot singer with numerous gifts including his-and-hers pot plants.

Jarrod claimed his actions on the show are comparable to his life away from TV cameras.

‘If I find a girl that I’m interested in I will move mountains to be that guy and this is exactly the same attitude I had when I went in there,’ he said. 

The Bachelorette airs Wednesday and Thursday nights from 7.30pm on Channel Ten
