This is the terrifying moment a massive shark got up close and personal with a boat off South Australia’s coast.

The curious animal was seen swimming towards the crabbing boat, before nudging it and trying to chomp down.

The video, captured with a drone, shows the shark under the left side of the boat towards the engine.

It then circles around, drifting towards the right side and nudging the line hanging in the water before opening its mouth at the second engine.

Two people can be seen on the boat as the shark circles it, with one person filming heard swearing.

One person then states the animal is ‘p***ed off’ before saying that it appears the creature is trying to get it’s ‘nose in the boat’.

The area off South Australia’s coast is renowned for shark sightings, with another 4.5metre shark nudging a boat near Port MacDonnell in June.

Fishwatch South Australia’s shark sighting log shows that 64 reports of the marine animals have been made this year, many of which were of white sharks.
