The bubbly author welcomed her second child, daughter Rudy Hazel, to comedian Hamish Blake in July.
But Zoë Foster Blake has revealed she experienced ‘some dark days’ in the weeks following her bundle of joy’s arrival.
The 26-year-old opened up about her labour, birth and post-natal experiences in a candid blog post on ZoTheySay.com.
‘They were the toughest few weeks of my life’: Zoë Foster Blake gives honest recount of newborn daughter Rudy’s arrival as mother admits she ‘forgot how’ to give birth
‘There were some dark days around week six and seven, though. Like all mums, when my infant hit peak crying and restlessness, all the bliss that carried me through the newborn era slipped quietly out the back door, and I began floundering,’ she said.
She said the addition of another child in the house made for a challenging experience, like no other.
‘After three years parenting just one (pretty chilled) kid, I felt totally unequipped and out of my depth. Parenting is, without a lick of competition, the hardest thing I’ve ever done, and the hardest job there is. They were the toughest few weeks of my life, I reckon,’ she admitted.

‘It was time to push. I completely forgot how’: Zoë said she ‘forgot’ how to give birth with the midwife yelling “Like you’re pooing!” as a helpful reminder
It wasn’t the only thing she struggled with either, noting she needed to be reminded how to give birth, despite doing so in 2014 with her son Sonny.
‘It was time to push. I completely forgot how. “Like you’re pooing!!” the midwife yelled (I remembered then) and within 15 very athletic, intense, wonderful minutes, our little girl was with us,’ she confessed.
Zoë praised husband Hamish for assisting her during labour, but also said she found comfort in her ‘hospital bag essentials’, which included an electric heatpack, a fancy cashmere robe, Tom maternity pads and a Spotify playlist.

‘Hip and pubis and pelvis are AOK!’: Despite the mother suffering multiple health challenges with her first pregnancy, the beauty columnist ensures she was doing much better this time
Arriving home, the beauty columnist stated her first meal post birth was a meatball sub with fries, and a glass of champagne served with ice cream.
After Zoë’s previous pregnancy she suffered multiple health challenges.
Speaking to mother’s website The Grace Tales, Zoë revealed that along with severe morning sickness, she was diagnosed with gestational diabetes – diagnosed when higher than normal blood glucose levels appear during pregnancy – and pelvic issues which has developed into a serious case of Ostetis Pubis – a non-infectious inflammation causing pain in the lower abdominal and pelvic region.
However, the mother claims she’s doing much better this time around: ‘Hip and pubis and pelvis are AOK! I am back doing my (at-home) Pilates and strengthening exercises and walking a lot. I feel good.’
