Tina Arena sells Melbourne home for more than $1.6 million

Tina Arena’s Melbourne home has sold for a song, fetching the singer more than $1.6 million just a month after it was passed over at auction.

Property agent Rob Elsom revealed Saturday that the double-storey terrace house had been snapped up by a young woman, according to Realestate.com.au.

The final price of the home was not disclosed however, with the three-bedroom abode originally priced around $1.8 million when listed in August.

The 180sqm property in Fitzroy attracted a single bid of $1.75 million at the September auction, but was passed in on.

The trendy home was then put to private sale after a price reduction, going for well above the $1.38 million the singer is believed to have payed for it.

Mr Elsom said the new owner ‘loved everything about’ the property and that the location had been a drawcard for her to buy.

‘She’ll end up doing a bit of work to it, but she’s pretty comfortable with it how it is,’ he said.

The 47-year-old moved back to Melbourne in 2015 after decades spent overseas in London and France.

‘I’ve been away 20-odd years, worked internationally and done some great things, (but) I just felt it was time to come home,’ she told News.com.au.

Tina first shot to fame as a child star on 1980s TV show Young Talent Time, alongside friend Dannii Minogue.
