‘That week was a little weird,’ Danny said.

‘He was distant and the great thing for me personally about this project, has been I’ve been able to understand things in a context now that I never really understood at the time.’

‘And I’m hoping that’s what it does for everybody,’ he said about the documentary, called Michael Hutchence: The Last Rockstar.

Danny described Michael as ‘extraordinary’ and said he had a ‘magical quality.’

‘Being around him, it was the energy he gave out and just who he was as a person, he made you feel good about who you were and gave you confidence if you’re working together on stuff or whatever.’

Meanwhile, Seven producer Mark Llewellyn revealed that the new documentary would be remarkably different to the 2014 biopic, Never Tear Us Apart.

Speaking to The Sunday Telegraph, he said: ‘This is not a biopic treading over old territory – this will make headlines around the world.’

Mark added: ‘this is not Michael Hutchence defined by how he died but how he lived: a brilliant musician, a brilliant man, a loving father, a true rock star.’

A trailer for the upcoming documentary teases that Michael’s missing songs would be heard for the first time as well as personal family videos and photographs that give insight to the man behind the microphone.

Also, the trailer reveals the last lyrics written by Michael before he died in 1997 which the trailer suggested would answer ‘why.’

The documentary also looks to some of Michael’s friends for insight with U2 frontman Bono featuring in the trailer.

‘He was amazing and interesting and then tragic,’ the Irish rocker revealed. ‘We’re all realising just how great a singer we lost as well as a friend.’
