The best places to watch England’s Euro 2022 final clash against Germany

With football inching ever closer to coming home for England’s Lionesses, hundreds of venues are pulling out all the stops to host the squad’s clash against Germany on their big screens. 

Anticipation is growing after the team stormed through their semi-final match against Sweden, beating them 4-0, to make it to Sunday’s final at Wembley.

But for those not lucky enough to have a ticket to the game, there’s dozens of spectacular places to view the match instead. 

Venues across the country – from atmospheric beer gardens and rooftop hotspots to outdoor cinemas and even the grounds of a castle – are offering England fans the chance to soak in the atmosphere.

Here, FEMAIL have rounded up our pick of the best places to catch a glimpse of the action across the UK… 

LONDON: TRAFALGAR SQUARE

When: Sunday 11am to 6pm

The Euro 2022 final will be shown on a big screen in Trafalgar Sqaure, with up to 7,000 fans able to watch the match for free, on a first-come, first-served basis.

Fans who are hoping to enjoy the action at the event have been asked to register their interest online.

The semi-final was shown to 5,000 viewers in the iconic London square.

The event will include activities such as a pop-up football pitch as well as live panel discussions and food and drink.

LINCOLN: LINCOLN CASTLE

The castle is also currently hosting the Picnic Social, so there will be an array of food and drink on offer.

Wanting to feel like you’re at Wembley? Well, watching the match in a football stadium might be the right way to go.

It’s free entry, but tickets are available online. However, tickets don’t guarantee fans entry as it works on a first come first served basis.

The event – which has food and drink available for purchase – will run from 3pm until 7pm.

MANCHESTER: PICCADILLY GARDENS

Manchester’s Piccadilly Gardens was turned into a top viewing spot for the Women’s Euros earlier this month.

And once again, there is set to be a huge screen where dedicated fans can watch all of the action.

Additionally, with the area opening at 11am, there are other activities such as face painting and football demos as well as food and drink on offer. 

MANCHESTER: DUCIE STREET WAREHOUSE

Price: £5 including a drink for the Mini Cini screening. Bookings must be made in advance by emailing info@duciestreet.com or calling 0161 503 9460. 

When: Sunday 5pm 

The warehouse is streaming the match live from its 36-seat Mini Cini, for £5, which includes a drink. 

There is a special cocktail on offer to mark the occasion- ‘The Summer Cup’. It is a twist on Pimms and includes Gin and Vermouth.

Walk-ins and free seating are also available for screenings on the terrace or in the jungle area at Ducie Street Warehouse.

Newcastle fans wanting to watch the football action away from home can enjoy a free screening as part of the city’s Screen on the Green Summer of Sport.

Entry is free and from 4.50-7pm people can watch along as the match unfolds and the excitement builds. 

Watchers will no doubt be hoping to see England go for victory as the game plays out in front of them.

LIVERPOOL: THE LONG SHOT ALBERT DOCK

Price: Reserve a table for drinks and/or food online for the game  

Situated on Liverpool’s historic Royal Albert Dock, this contemporary sports bar has 13 giant screens specifically set up for sports fans. 

Viewers can settle in with a glamorous cocktail and an array of food to watch the highly anticipated game. Tables are available to book online.

The venue also has food stalls and drink vendors so you can have a pint and cheer the Lionesses in the process.

Posting about the quarter finals online, Lane7 shared a photograph of a packed screening area for another match. It promises to be a lively evening and a great atmosphere for you and your friends. 

NEWCASTLE: CENTRAL PARK TIME SQUARE

Another big spot for football fans to catch a glimpse of the final game is Central Park Time Square in Newcastle.

The giant 6m x 3m screen is accompanied by seating, including benches and deckchairs for people to truly enjoy the sporting action at the fan zone.

SUSSEX: BEXHILL SEA FRONT

Price: Free  

When: Sunday from 4pm

On the lawns of Bexhill seafront, in Sussex, families can go and enjoy the exciting match for free. 

A big screen is set to be provided by local company Box Broadband for viewers to watch the game.

Spectators have been encouraged to bring their own picnic to the event, which will start from 4pm.
