Single dating guru, 37, reveals why American men are better DATERS

An Australian dating guru has praised American men for being more ‘confident’ than her homegrown counterparts after a recent trip to the US.

Jana Hocking, 37, packed her bags for an ‘eat, pray, love’ journey in July stopping off in New York, London and Mykonos for some sun – and fun – after growing tired of the Sydney dating pool.

She noticed above everything else on her trip that American men had far more ‘game’ when it came to asking for a phone number or a date than the blokes she had been conversing with Down Under.

‘As I perused a shop, I watched as a very stereotypical NYC bloke caught eyes with an attractive shop assistant and boldly said: ‘Hey baby girl, what you doing later?’ BOLD,’ Jana recalled to news.com.au.

‘So what is it specifically about New York guys that makes them stand out?

‘That’s an easy one to answer: confidence. Over the next couple of days as I watched these skilled creatures in their natural, high-rise habitat, I realised that they seemed to have a certain appeal.’

Jana praised the Americans for actively engaging her in conversation and maintaining eye contact even if they were feeling shy.

She ‘couldn’t imagine this in Sydney’ and urged Aussie men to up their confidence to better their chances of finding a date.

Alexa, who is from Sydney but has been travelling around Europe, agrees with Jana, and compared the sweet messages she has received from men she met on her travels with the harsh texts she was sent while she was home.

In a now-viral TikTok video, the woman shared screenshots of the messages she’s received over the years from both sides with an Australian texting her ‘Who gives a f*** about you’ while a European man was more romantic asking ‘How is my beautiful girl?’.

‘Should we all move to Europe?’ Alexa captioned the clip that has amassed more than 41,000 views.

On the contrary, suitors in Europe were far more suave sending the Aussie woman messages such as: ‘Will always have you in my heart tho’, ‘I’m melting with our pics’ and ‘Wish I could be with you’ complete with heart emojis.

Dozens of women both from down under and around the world in were in agreeance with Alexa and related to her problem with ‘toxic’ Australian men.

‘Sydney woman here. Can confirm this is truth,’ one viewers said while another wrote: ‘Ughhh this is so accurate’.

‘This is so true!! Why are they so angry??,’ a third asked.

‘Can confirm: I’m from the UK and it’s bizarre how men communicate in Aus,’ responded a fourth.

‘Boys in Sydney MESSAGE you???? this is already rare,’ another laughed to which Alexa responded: ‘Messages are barely worth reading dw’.

Others in the comments weren’t so convinced and jumped in to defend the Aussie lads.

‘Maybe you’re picking the wrong guys,’ one person said and second agreed: ‘You are speaking to the wrong Sydney guys!’

‘It all depends on the boy, some are heartless and some are gracious and affectionate. It doesn’t matter where they’re from,’ said another.

Someone also offered some sage dating advice: ‘They don’t deserve your beautiful best self. Don’t bother explaining yourself to those who disrespect you like that. Disrespect them back and block’.
