The Covid-19 pandemic has generated drastic changes in all the countries of the world, especially in Latin American countries, which in the blink of an eye adapted to the new conditions.
What are the main consequences of the catastrophic pandemic, everything has been as bad as many say? Are there positive figures in the future? What is the projection of Latin America after Covid-19?
Current figures indicate that in 2022, 20% of the Latin American population lives below the threshold of extreme poverty. A figure that is accentuated in the largest countries in the region, such as Mexico and Brazil, who occupy a large part of this percentage.
Lack of opportunities, education, inequality, and corruption continue to be the greatest generators of poverty in Latin America.
In terms of gender and social equality, Latin America is still many points behind compared to the great powers. The lack of equitable policies is still the stone in the road for developing countries.
After the pandemic, the gross domestic product (GDP) of Latin American countries fell by 7%, an alarming and very high figure compared to countries such as the United States, which barely had a reduction of 3%, or China, which registered an increase of GDP of 4% after Covid-19. It is estimated that Latin America will recover by the beginning year 2023.
One of the most alarming figures after the Covid-19 pandemic in Latin America is in education, it is estimated that 3 out of 5 children lost a year of education. This generates concern about the impact that this figure could have on the economy in long-term development.
This leaves the door open for illiteracy and child labor rates to continue to strengthen in the region. Latin America urgently needs investment in education, to generate considerable and lasting changes.
It is not until the Covid-19 pandemic that Latin America begins to relate to the term remote work, currently, 64% of companies in the region offer remote work, and 34% hybrid.
Without a doubt, face-to-face work is a thing of the past, even for Latin America, which is becoming stronger today, with remote workplaces abroad. Many developed countries have increased the number of Latino workers under this modality, generating better opportunities and development for many professionals. Technological careers are among the most sought-after profiles.
There are many companies today that are looking for qualified people, creators, and professionals in technical sciences.
Latin American companies that offer technical products and services are growing exponentially after the pandemic. Even specialists in finance and economics recommend investing in these companies, due to the positive projections they are showing.
Investment in technology has also increased and there are many companies that today invest in technological innovation. This is the case of the Honduran company Grupo Visión, with 20 years of experience, they are specialists in creating, developing, and implementing intelligent technological solutions.
They have a wide range of proprietary innovations at the service of companies, corporations, industries, and governments.
JonathanSchacher and Roderick Schacher, directors of Grupo Visión, work under the vision of creating more efficient, safer, modern technological cities and communities, at the forefront of innovation and development.
Grupo Vision invests a percentage of its profits in research and development of new technologies, an example to follow for many Latin American companies, which today are a great force and hope in the development of the region.

Another figure that we cannot ignore is that of internet consumption, after the pandemic, this figure has grown exponentially.
It is estimated that Latin America is today the number 1 internet consumer in the world. On average, in the United States, 9 hours of the internet is consumed per day, while in the countries of the region consumption is 11 hours.
In conclusion, the Covid-19 pandemic has left us with critical figures in education, development, and the economy. Other more encouraging ones such as the investment and development of technology companies in Latin America.
In addition, the new remote work opportunities, motivate them to invest in preparation and education for better opportunities.
Latin America has great obstacles to overcome, mainly corruption, which is the reason why many compatriots remain mired in extreme poverty, without education, health, equity, and opportunities.
