Netflix and Amazon Prime are ‘vying to secure a fly-on-the-wall documentary about Manchester United’, with a series about Erik ten Hag’s side likely to cost ‘millions’
- Arsenal’s recent All Or Nothing documentary was a big success for Amazon
- They are now battling with Netflix to secure a series on Manchester United
- The past few months have provided plenty of documentary-worthy drama
- United have reportedly ‘not given the idea the green light’ but interest is ‘strong’
Streaming giants Netflix and Amazon Prime have reportedly entered a bidding war over a fly-on-the-wall documentary about Manchester United.
It comes after the success of Amazon’s All Or Nothing series that has followed Arsenal, Manchester City and Tottenham, as well as Netflix shows such as Sunderland Till I die.
The last few months at Old Trafford would have given a film crew plenty of drama, with dramatic results on the pitch, a saga over Cristiano Ronaldo’s future and a manager struggling to sign players.

According to reports in the Sun, Amazon Prime and Netflix are both willing to spend ‘millions’ to secure a United documentary, with Barcelona also a target.
An anonymous source was quoted in the Sun saying: ‘Fly on the wall football shows are very much in fashion at the moment and Amazon and Netflix want to show more and more of them.
‘So far United haven’t given the idea the green light. But the interest remains strong and is unlikely to go away.’
Arsenal’s recent All Or Nothing documentary was a great success for Amazon Prime
‘Producers have made great play of the fact that a programme would be a chance for the directors to show a different side to their role at the club, much like the way Arsenal’s owners did in All or Nothing.’
Manchester United’s trajectory so far this season echo’s the one shown in Arsenal’s documentary last year, with a torrid start followed by impressive wins.
Red Devils fans will be hoping the recent upturn in results can become something more concrete as they look to resurrect their season.
