Why Michael Munro turned down hosting gig on Today show

He’s the veteran current affairs reporter and presenter who has a wealth of experience after beginning his television career more than 35 years ago.

And Michael ‘Mike’ Munro, 64, was quick to applaud Lisa Wilkinson’s sudden exit from Channel Nine’s the Today show this week, after claims her demands for the Network to pay her the same wage as co-host Karl Stefanovic were not met.

Frankly speaking to 97.3FM’s Bianca, Terry & Bob on Wednesday, Mike said: ‘I think she has every right to be standing up for herself.’

‘She deserves everything that she gets and Channel Ten are lucky to have her,’ he continued to praise Lisa.
