White Noise is an adaptation of the bestselling 1985 novel by American novelist Don DeLillo, with the film serving as a curtain-raiser at the event before moving on to the New York Film Festival in September.

The film sees Adam Driver starring alongside Greta, Don Cheadle and Jodie, in director Noah’s screen adaptation of DeLillo’s critically acclaimed postmodernist novel about an ‘Airborne Toxic Event’ and its impact on a small American town.

The trailer shows Adam and Greta playing Jack and Babette, a couple apparently trying to shepherd their children through a string of bizarre misadventures.

Their troubles are kicked off when a chemical spill from a train called ‘The Airborne Toxic Event’ upends life in their town.

In the book, Jack is a college professor specializing in Hitler and Babette is his pill-popping wife who has an affair in order to get medicine for her fear of death.

One of his colleagues is another professor called Murray Siskind, played by Don Cheadle, whom viewers can also catch a couple of glimpses of in the trailer.
