A proud mum has shared a picture of her first ever ‘Woolworths mud cake hack’ – but viewers couldn’t stop talking about an awkward detail in the TV ad behind it.
The mum bought two of the popular $5.75 cakes for her daughter’s first birthday before stacking them and decorating them with white icing and rose petals.
‘My daughter’s first birthday party, made with two Woolies mud cakes,’ she wrote on the Woolies/Coles Mud Cake Hacks group. ‘Ignore the subtitles on the ad.’
The subtitles read ‘What is discharge?’ beneath the word ‘Periods’ which was written in bold.

‘Cake looks great! But I’m defs having a giggle at the subtitles,’ one woman wrote.
‘Perfect timing! Wouldn’t have even noticed,’ said another.
‘We wouldn’t have looked if you didn’t say anything! But what is discharge?’ giggled a third.

Some people tried to help out by editing the picture to get rid of the awkward text behind
The viewers also tried their hands at ‘fixing’ the picture by blurring out the awkward text on the television screen or by covering it with clip art flowers.
While one changed the caption to ‘first of all, discharge is’, making one woman laugh so hard she ‘spat out her coffee’.
500 people reacted to the post in the group which has grown to have 87,000 members.
Cake hacks involved people taking the cheap, pre-made mud cakes from the supermarket and decorating them to look high end or bespoke.
People without the time or skill to bake the cakes have fun showing off their artistic skills in the Facebook group.
