Who is she? Chrissy Teigen has asked fans to explain who Liz Truss is ‘like she is 5’ after news of the latest Prime Minister spread across the pond
Ask the fans: The model, 36, took to Twitter to ask her 13.2million followers to ask for dummy-friendly guide to who is leading the UK
But the television personality, who is married to singer John Legend, 43, decided that she didn’t have enough information on the latest person to be running the UK.
Writing on Twitter, the model wrote: ‘Can someone explain Liz Truss to me, like I’m 5? I don’t know a thing and am looking to learn thank you.’
Her request garnered over 1,400 replies and over 5,600 likes, with many sending their individual descriptions of the new Conservative PM.
Some people replied with useful explainer videos and links to articles which discuss Truss’s history and what brought her to become Prime Minister.
But most of those responding took the opportunity to pass their opinions about Liz, citing awkward speeches and making memes out of previous public gaffes.

One person mentioned Truss’s cheese and pork speech at a Tory conference in 2014: ‘All I know is there is a speech she gives about the importance of apples… the fruit… and I can’t get beyond that.’
In the speech, Liz Truss told the audience how much produce the UK imports, passionately describing her dismay at the figures.
She said: ‘ I want to see us eating more British food here in Britain. At the moment we import two thirds of all our apples. We import nine tenths of all our pears.
‘We import two thirds of our cheese. That is a disgrace. From the apples that dropped on Isaac Newton’s head to the orchards of nursery rhymes, this fruit has always been part of Britain.’
Another similarly wrote: ‘She gets very very angry about cheese. She’s a very serious person.’
‘She’s a real cheese lover,’ a Twitter user also quipped.
One mentioned Liz Truss’s superfan status for Taylor Swift, after the politician slid in song lyric during a debate in the House of Commons.

On 8 March 2020, which is International Women’s Day, Truss as Minister for Women and Equalities at the time quoted Swift’s song The Man: ‘It is your talent ideas and character that matter, not anything else.
‘In the words of the brilliant Taylor Swift in her new song, women aren’t left “running as fast as they can, wondering if they’d get there quicker if they were a man”.’
A Twitter user said in response to Chrissy’s tweet: ‘If margaret thatcher was a swiftie.’
Another compared Liz to her predecessor, writing ‘Boris Johnson with a bob,’ with one other user quickly adding: ‘Bobis Johnson’.
Making reference to US President Donald Trump, a user described: ‘Trump but female and not as orange.’
One person said: ‘Cruella DeVille. Without the dalmatians.’
And one even said: ‘Chrissy you don’t want to know,’
