Joel Creasey slept with gay AFL Sydney Swans footballer

He’s the flamboyant comedian who launched his highly-anticipated memoir Thirsty: Confessions of a Fame Wh**e this week.  

And Joel Creasey has revealed that within the pages of his tell-all novel are details of his brief fling with a male AFL footballer.

In an interview with the Herald Sun this Saturday, the 27-year-old revealed that he had slept with a Sydney Swans player- but made sure to stay mum on the matter of his identity.

‘I’m very good at keeping secrets so he will be all right,’ he told the publication.

‘I give just enough away. He’s a lovely guy.’

Joel said the footballer used to visit him at his residence- which is located close to Etihad Stadium in Melbourne- and revealed that he slept with the unknown footballer several times.

An extract from the book reveals Joel’s opinion on stigmas attached to homosexuality, especially in the sporting industry. 

‘It always makes me laugh when conservatives say, ‘There aren’t any gay players in the AFL,” Joel writes.

‘I live near Etihad Stadium. I can assure you there are — I slept with one.’

‘I’m not in the business of outing people either, though. And we only slept together a couple of times. But I always did love the juxtaposition of him coming over after a game to me lying on the couch watching The Devil Wears Prada.’ 

A fierce advocate for the ‘Yes’ movement as part of Australia’s same-sex marriage debate, Joel’s book also attempts to highlight social issues such as homophobia and body-shaming, and offers a balanced commentary on individual sexuality.
