PLAYER RATINGS: Harry Grant’s energy gave Australia a HUGE boost while Daly Cherry-Evans’ quiet night in Leeds will do little to stave off the looming Nathan Cleary

By Ollie Lewis For Daily Mail Australia

Australia dusted off the cobwebs after a lengthy spell without international rugby to get their World Cup campaign off to a strong start with a 42-8 victory over Fiji.

Josh Addo-Carr put his Origin woes behind him to demonstrate he belongs on the big stage with two excellent tries, while Latrell Mitchell and Cameron Munster worked well in tandem on the left.

With a squad jampacked full of talent, every player is hoping to state his case in locking down a starting spot in Mal Meninga’s starting line-up as the tournament progresses.

So, how did the 17 get on in Leeds? Daily Mail Australia rates each player’s game.
