A father-of-four was brutally stabbed to death in his own front yard after he went outside to investigate a power outage in Brisbane’s south, police say.
The 35-year-old man’s children were inside the house on Saint George Street in Kuraby when he was attacked in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
Queensland Police said preliminary information suggests the man had gone outside at around 12.30am when he was set upon.

He was found dead in the front yard a short time later with a number of significant stab wounds, according to the Today show.
Detective Superintendent Tony Fleming said police have launched a manhunt to find the perpetrator.
‘This is normally a quiet area,’ he told the program.
‘This is certainly not something that we expected and that’s why we have pulled all our resources out and we are following up with as much vigour as we can.’

Officers are canvassing the area and speaking to residents for information about the attack.
