A New York real estate developer and former business partner of Donald Trump has bought a sketch of the Empire State Building drawn by the president for $16,000 at an auction.
Elie Hirschfeld, president of Hirschfeld Properties, purchased the 12-by-9-inch black marker depiction of the iconic New York City skyscraper at an auction in California and online last week.
It was created by Trump for a charity auction in Florida during the time he opened his Mar-a-Lago estate as a private club in 1995.
‘This piece came up and I found it to be a stunning addition to my collection,’ Hirschfeld TRD. ‘Donald Trump is an artist.’

In a statement Monday, Hirschfeld says he plans to hang it in his office a couple of blocks from Trump Tower.
Hirschfeld is the developer for the stretch of buildings on Riverside Drive that runs north and south along the Hudson River in Manhattan.
Julien’s Auctions says the piece signed by Trump went for less than $100 the first time it was sold.
It was estimated to go for $8,000 to $12,000 at the auction that took place in Los Angeles and online Thursday.
A portion of the proceeds of the sale went to benefit WHDD-FM, a National Public Radio station in Connecticut.
This isn’t the first triumph for Trump in the art department. A Manhattan skyline that he sketched sold at auction this July for $29,000.
The winner was not identified but he or she splashed out $29,184, including the premium for the piece of art.
