A massage therapist has told a Sydney jury of shielding her eyes after West Indies cricketer Chris Gayle pulled down a towel he was wearing to expose part of his penis to her in a team change room.

Leanne Russell said she had gone into the room to get some lunch when she saw Gayle, who was wearing a towel and a shirt, and teammate Dwayne Smith standing behind him.

Ms Russell, an executive assistant at the AFL, was giving evidence on Wednesday in the NSW Supreme Court defamation case brought by Gayle against Fairfax Media, which published her account of the alleged incident.
