Fans were left scratching their heads this week after Sophie Monk introduced her decidedly posh-sounding family to The Bachelorette’s final two contestants.
And self-confessed bogan Sophie has now responded to fan confusion about how she ended up being the only one in her family to sport a thick Australian accent.
‘I don’t know either! And I lived overseas for 10 years and I’m still like this!’ the English-born beauty told Kyle And Jackie O this Friday following The Bachelorette’s grand finale episode.

Jackie O admitted that she was shocked to hear how different her family sounded to Sophie’s profanity-prone drawl, saying: ‘Yeah isn’t that funny, because I wasn’t expecting your parents to sound like that.’
‘Like your mum actually sounds really quite, you know, proper!’ she said.
Kyle interjected to ask whether her parents were simply putting on a posh accent for the cameras on Thursday night’s episode.

Another had a similar thought, posting: ‘How did Sophie become such a (lovable) bogan when her family is not?’
One fan even complimented the singer on her unashamedly ‘bogan’ features, tweeting: ‘OMG we just figured out that Sophie has HER OWN LAST name tattooed on the back of her neck what a bogan kweeeeen.’
Earlier in the season, Sophie’s family appeared undercover on the show to see what the suitors were really like.
The brood is back! The boys made a last-ditch effort to impress the family as they were treated to a series of intense questioning from Sophie’s nearest and dearest

Pub mogul Stu was grilled by Lucy about his previous ‘playboy’ reputation but impressed her when she spoke gracefully and maturely about his ex-wife.
Meanwhile, Stu wasted no time trying to win the approval of Sandi and confessed his feelings for Sophie.
‘I definitely love your daughter. I was falling for her weeks ago,’ he told her.
