Megan Fox: Getting fired from Transformers was low point

She was fired from Transformers in 2011, after rocketing to fame as their sizzling siren in 2007.

And ten years on Megan Fox, 31, has admitted she regrets the behaviour that led up to her leaving the Transformers franchise, describing it as a ‘low point in her career’.

Megan who has been married to 90210 actor Brian Austin since 2010, also opened up about their relationship, after calling off their divorce while pregnant with their third child last year.

Megan Fox, 31, has admitted she regrets the behaviour that led up to her leaving the Transformers franchise, describing it as a ‘low point in her career’

Posing as Cosmopolitan’s December cover star, Megan- who was replaced by Rosie Huntington-Whiteley for the third movie, described the end of her contract with the action flick as a low point in her career.

Slipping into a plush pale pink faux fur jacket, she admitted: ‘That was absolutely the low point of my career. But without – ‘that thing’ – I wouldn’t have learned as quickly as I did.’

‘All I had to do was apologise – and I refused. I was so self-righteous at 23, I couldn’t see [that] it was for the greater good. I really thought I was Joan of Arc.’

Another shot sees the actress slip into a semi-sheer chiffon black dress and funky trainers, as she opened up about her previously tumultuous relationship with husband Brian, she admitted having to work to keep things going 13 years after they first met.

‘If you want it to last, you just have to stick it out,’ she admitted. ‘I know my karma isn’t done. And so we’re in it until the universe releases us. We’re not completely in control of it. And he is a hunk.’

Megan began dating Brian in 2004, after they met on the set of Hope & Faith when he was 30 and she was 18. They tied the knot on June 24, 2010.

She is mother to Noah, four, and Bodhi, three, and split from Brian in August 2015 before discovering she was pregnant with their third child.

The duo then announced they were calling off their divorce, before welcoming Journey River, now 1.

'That was absolutely the low point of my career. But without – 'that thing' – I wouldn't have learned as quickly as I did.'

Megan is also a step-mum to Brian’s 14-year-old son Kassius from his previous relationship with Vanessa Marcil.

And changing into her final ensemble- a satin strapless gown dressed down with trainers, the raven-haired beauty admitted her busy personal life comes before her work life.

‘I would never pick work over life,’ she admitted honestly. ‘I’m the least ambitious actress! I pick movies that’ll be fun to make. I’m not here to suffer for the art of movie-making or ‘bleed for the craft.’ And I’m not going to be an actress forever. I’ve always known I have another calling.’

Despite her relaxed attitude to her career, she is often left exasperated when she is typecast for the same type of roles.

‘I still get offered a lot of ‘genius strippers’ and ‘funny escorts’ by guys in the business,’ she admitted. ‘But I don’t want to be involved with something genuinely degrading. Or that [which] encourages negative sexual ideals about women. Old-school male attitudes towards women – it’s still in all the adverts. When my kids grow up, hopefully that attitude will be gone.’

And although she hopes attitudes will change, she doesn’t regret the roles she’s played.

‘I’m not ashamed of sexy poses or parts. Women shouldn’t go out of their way to be dowdy. Being feminine is a very sexy thing,’ the Jennifer’s Body actress added.

The actress is hopeful that men will also take on a more sexual role in film.

‘It’s just a biological fact: sex does sell. But I wish it was more gender equal. I’m happy to buy some sex, too. It’s not wrong, it just needs to go both ways. Women shouldn’t have to carry the burden. And I think we have so far.’

And while she has been in the limelight for over a decade, Megan takes fame with a pinch of salt.

‘I understand I’m a product – but I don’t have to like it. The truth is, I’m actually very private,’ she concluded.

The move came after she compared director Michael Bay to Hitler, and was rumoured to have been at executive producer Steven Spielberg’s request.

At the time she had told Wonderland magazine of Bay: ‘He’s like Napoleon and he wants to create this insane, infamous madman reputation.

‘He wants to be like Hitler on his sets, and he is. So he’s a nightmare to work for but when you get him away from set, and he’s not in director mode, I kind of really enjoy his personality because he’s so awkward, so hopelessly awkward. He has no social skills at all.

‘And it’s endearing to watch him. He’s vulnerable and fragile in real life and then on set he’s a tyrant. Shia [LaBeouf] and I almost die when we make a Transformers movie. He has you do some really insane things that insurance would never let you do.’

However Bay later revealed the duo were back on good terms, describing her as ‘family’.
