Roxy Jacenko and sister Ruby are talking again

She’s the glamorous PR guru who recently went from blonde to pink in the name of Breast Cancer Awareness Week.

And, as Roxy Jacenko stepped out for a Love Your Sister charity event in Sydney on Friday she revealed another big change in her life – she is no longer estranged from her sister.

Roxy told Daily Mail Australia that she and her little sister Ruby Davis are speaking again: ‘All is forgotten – no family is perfect,’ she said.

‘We all have our challenges, we are no different. Mine are just public!’ she added.

The pair have famously been at odds in the past, culminating in police bringing an AVO application against Ms Davis on Roxy’s behalf several years ago. The application was later withdrawn.

Ruby attended her sister’s wedding in 2012 and then left Sydney for LA a few years ago. In 2015 she began a car website for US women called Chickdriven.

Ruby was among the first people to contact Roxy when she was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2016.

‘She reached out right away to tell me she was sad to hear I had cancer,’ Roxy shared.

Despite having just had one of the toughest years of her life, Roxy said she feels: ‘Really well, settled and ready to take on the world!’

Business is booming for the PR maven and she’s had to cut back on her physical training to accommodate.

‘I am training three days week now,’ she shared. ‘It’s a really busy time for me with work and all my additional commitments so I have had to prioritise in order to maintain everything.

‘I love training but I have to be careful not to overdo it and get sick.’

Her husband, investment banker Oliver Curtis, spent 12 months behind bars for insider trading leaving her to raise their two children alone while running several businesses.

And in September she had another breast cancer scare.

Roxy recently dyed her hair pink in support of the National Breast Cancer Foundation and Look Good, Feel Better charities.

‘It was a bold move but one I did to raise awareness and I was thrilled to be able to bring more talkability to something [cancer] that affects so many of us,’ she said.

Roxy’s own battle with cancer changed her and after her diagnosis she had to make big decisions, ones an average 37-year-old might not even be considering.

‘I had a will but updated it, you never want to think about that stuff but the reality was I was the sole carer to my children, so all needed to be in order for them,’ she shared.

The blonde businesswoman has two young children Pixie, 5, and Hunter, 3.

When asked if she ever contemplates the future and the risk her daughter may also develop breast cancer she said: ‘Any mother would who has had cancer.

‘With my personal and my company’s continued support of cancer charities working to find a solution, I hope that by then it will be completely treatable even for the worst cases.’

Also a supporter of Love Your Sister, a cancer charity founded by Samuel Johnson and his late sister Connie, Roxy said Connie’s story had made her even more determined to do what she can to help find a cure for the disease.

‘It is so incredibly sad – she was a similar age to me,’ she said. ‘It makes it even more important for me to continue supporting cancer charities financially and with time.

‘When Westfield Parramatta gave me the chance to be a part of their high tea and said they would donate $10,000 to the charity I jumped at it.’

As for her personal life, Roxy also revealed that she has no plans to have any more children in the near future.

‘Pixie and Hunter are a joy and we are happy as a family of four,’ she said.
