Antibiotics crisis strikes Australia with more than 361 medications in short supply across the country

An antibiotics shortage is gripping Australia, with common medications in short supply.

A total of 361 medications are listed as limited around the country, including 45 considered critical.

Children’s liquid antibiotics are especially limited, with families being forced to travel to different pharmacies just to find the medications they need.

The shortage is being caused by high demand, and could last for several months.

The Australian Medical Association says this is a great reminder of the importance of producing these medications domestically.
