A relationship expert has revealed it takes men just a matter of minutes to decide whether you are girlfriend material after he once again brought the box theory to the forefront of the conversation.
The box theory is an idea coined by influencer and TikTok’s big sister Christina Najjar, aka Tinx, and notes that the moment a man meets you he places you in one of three boxes. They either want to date you, hook up with you… or he wants nothing to do with you.
The idea gained traction back in July 2021 when the social media mogul shared it with her over 1.5 million followers, and has now taken the internet by storm again thanks to relationship expert Mario Mirante.
Mario touched on the theory in a recent video, claiming in the clip that it takes men just ’15 minutes tops’ to know whether you are their next one-night stand or if you will be the one to meet their parents.
The box theory is an idea coined by influencer Christina Najjar, aka Tinx, and notes that the moment a man meets you he places you in one of three boxes – dating, hooking up, or nothing
Relationship expert Mario Mirante brought the box theory to the forefront of the conversation after it went viral and was coined by influencer Tinx in July 2021
Her theory opened up the eyes of woman across the globe – becoming a key to dating and even finding the person you’re meant to be with
Tinx shocked users when she echoed the lesson in 2009 film He’s Just Not That Into You, and revealed that the key to finding the one is understanding that they are much more simple than they seem to be.
The influencer discussed her box theory noting that men ‘meet you in a romantic setting, they put you in a box’.
‘Either they want to date you, sleep with you or they want nothing to do with you,’ she said.
And if the concept of a man deciding the fate of your relationship within minutes wasn’t shocking enough, TikTok’s big sister then dropped another bomb – once you’re in a box, it’s near impossible to move into a different area.
‘It’s very difficult to shift from box to box and you’re behavior doesn’t affect what box you’re in,’ she said before adding that when you sleep with him – whether it’s the first night or the third date – won’t change his mind.
Her theory opened up the eyes of woman across the globe – becoming a key to dating and even finding the person you’re meant to be with.
And although the theory went viral in the past, the relationship expert brought on a whole new swarm of women who were dying to learn more.
Mario revealed it takes men ’15 minutes tops’ to decide and said that if they take longer they are ‘stringing you along’
Tinx and Mario took the internet by storm as a swarm of women questioned how to know which box they’re in
Tinx noted that if you have to question which box you’re in, you’re most likely in the hookup box
Reacting to hosts of Gin & Toxic podcast Christina Harris & Lily Stewart noting that men know within ‘months’ if they want to be you’re boyfriend, the relationship expert bluntly revealed that men will never need months, and if they do then they just aren’t that into you.
‘You think it takes a month or two? 15 minutes tops. Sure there might be a few dates, maybe a few weeks whatever, just to make sure that gut feelings right, but if it’s been months? He doesn’t want to date you girl.
‘Any guy that says otherwise is full of s***. He’s just stringing you along for alternative motives,’ he revealed.
The video sent waves through social media as women flooded the comments section questioning how they will know which box they are in, how to shift from box to box and more.
The video became so popular, Tinx – who coined the theory – even duetted the relationship expert’s video agreeing with him.
And the questions of users were even answered, but weren’t exactly the responses they were hoping for.
Tinx noted that if you have to question which box you’re in, you’re most likely in the hookup box and if you constantly find yourself there then she suggested you opt for ‘nice guys’ instead of ’emotionally unavailable’ men instead.
Many users agreed with the influencer and relationship expert, and even shared their own stories that proved the box theory
Many users agreed with the influencer and relationship expert, and even shared their own stories that proved the box theory.
One user said: ‘Can confirm. I did throw up on myself and sleep with a guy and he still wanted to make me his girlfriend, not my best night.’
Another added: ‘If it’s right there’s nothing you can do wrong. If it’s wrong there’s nothing you can do right.’
‘Men know what they want within two minutes,’ wrote another user.
‘This is so true and adds another layer to why online dating can be so hard,’ commented one user.
‘This is actually the best advice I’ve gotten in a long time,’ said one user.
