Leeds United striker Joe Gelhardt is discussing a loan move to former club Wigan Athletic.
Jesse Marsch’s side brought Gelhardt to Elland Road from the Latics in 2020, after seeing off a number of Premier League clubs to his signature.
The 20-year-old’s appearances have been limited since the summer and his prospect of minutes under Marsch have been further impacted by the signing of Georginio Rutter from Hoffenheim.

Leeds though did sign Gelhardt to a new long-term contract until 2027 back in August, suggesting he is part of their future plans.
The youngster did feature in Leeds’ 5-2 FA Cup replay victory over Cardiff, registering an assist during a 23-minute cameo.

Gelhardt joined Wigan at the age of ten and stayed at the club until 2020 when he joined Leeds
Gelhardt signed his first professional contract with the club in 2018 and went on to make his debut in April 2019, scoring his first senior goal in September that year.
He made 19 appearances in all competitions that season, before leaving the club after Wigan were relegated from the Championship after a 12-point penalty pushed them down into the relegation places.
