Cleaning enthusiasts are racing to get their hands on a cult favourite cleaning product which has just landed in Aldi stores in Australia.

Scrub Daddy, a cleaning sponge that promises to banish tough stains without any chemicals, was launched in the budget supermarket for just $4.49.

The tool changes texture based on your water temperature. It’s soft in warm water for light cleaning while it’s firm in cold water for tough scrubbing without the need for added harsh chemicals.

Scrub Daddy was popularised by cleaning experts on TikTok and it’s been a staple overseas for years.

Customers claim the product is good for everything, from kitchen pots and pans, to shower screens, BBQs and couches.

‘They are really good. They go harder in cold water, softer in hot, can go in the dishwasher. They clean really well, last for ages and they don’t scratch glass or steel,’ one woman said.

Hundreds of Aussies have shared their before and after images of places in their homes they used the sponges to clean.

‘Super satisfying before and after. Scrub daddy was used to remove years of grime and oil on this stove top,’ one woman said.

The product’s patented FlexTexture material sets the sponge from just about every other brand on the market because it allows users to control their ‘scrubbing power’.

* Crayon, felt-tip and pencil marks drawn on the walls by children

* Battered walls, skirting boards, doors and light switches

* For kitchens that have been running overtime – baking trays, sinks, fridges, ovens and even stainless-steel can sparkle

The sponge first made headlines after American founder Aaron Krause debuted the product on Shark Tank USA in October 2012. According to CEO magazine, the company is worth US$170million (AU$235million).

Several parents say they are delighted the sponges became so popular on TikTok as it seems to have inspired their kids to clean.

‘They are amazing for dishes and even better because the kids have seen TikToks on them. We bought one and now they don’t complain about doing dishes, win win,’ one mum said.

‘My 12-year-old has been asking for these to do the dishes with! I think I just found the best birthday gift!’ another wrote.
