Cruise ship guest orders a fancy fruit plate to her room but is left shocked by the ‘sad’ snack that arrives at her door: ‘This has to be a joke’
- Woman thought she ordered a fruit platter on room service
- She received a plate with four small slices of fruit instead
A diner was left disappointed by the ‘sad’ fruit plate she ordered on a cruise that looked nothing like the picture on the menu.
The woman thought she was ordering a complimentary platter of multiple slices of watermelon, oranges, rockmelon, and pineapple as well as grapes and strawberries from room service.
However what arrived at her door was far from what she was expecting.
She got a small plate with a singular slice each of pineapple, watermelon, rockmelon and honeydew.
The guest saw the funny side of the fruit salad fail and shared images of her ‘snack’ to a popular Facebook group.
A cruise ship guest was astounded when she ordered a fruit plate on room service to receive a ‘sad’ snack of just four small slices of fruit
‘I just embarked on a cruise for my birthday and ordered a fruit plate to be sent to my room as a lil snacky snack. The pic for ordering is so misleading,’ the traveller wrote in a post.
Thankfully, she didn’t have to pay for the ‘woeful’ snack as the cruise offered free room service at certain times of the day.
Dozens of group members slammed the kitchen staff for sending the tiny fruit plate and encouraged the guest to complain.

‘They’re missing like three fruits! I hope you didn’t pay,’ one woman replied.
‘I would call them back and say ‘I’d like it to look like the picture you guys advertised with, thanks’,’ another recommended.
Others thought it was hilarious and some pointed out the fruit slices might have been arranged to look like a sail boat.
‘Is there a chance you’re just looking at it wrong and it’s supposed to represent a boat sailing off into the sunset??? lol,’ one member asked.
‘Damn inflation really getting wild,’ joked a second while a third laughed: ‘Talk about portion control, sheesh’.
‘Looks like the person who brought it ate the little snacky snack while bringing it, sorry girl,’ another guessed.
‘Please tell me you’re joking?!’ someone else said and a second added: ‘This is so bad it’s comical.’
