Trendy Aussies lose it over chic mint green retro ‘cruiser’ bike from Kmart – and you won’t believe the cost

Kmart shoppers are racing to get their hands on the store’s latest trending launch -but they will have to move quick if they want one.
The store is selling a budget-friendly version of the fashionable Esplanade cruiser bike – which can retail for around $700 for branded styles.
The $179 bike features 28-inch wheels, a front basket and bike rack; the 70cm retro-style mint green bike has proven to be a sell-out every time and previous customers have left rave reviews.

Popular Instagrammers have been snapping the bargain up and posting it on their social media.
‘My favourite thing to do to unwind is to ride down to the water,’ said a Queensland mum who runs the page Addison and me.
She uploaded a snap of herself and her two-year-old daughter taking the Kmart bike for a ride on the promenade, her daughter was strapped onto the bike in a bike seat.
‘I’m so sad that soon she will be too big for the back of my bike. I love our afternoon rides so much,’ she said.
The bikes can hold up to 100 kilos and is suitable for riders over 14, and who are at least 157 centimeters tall.
Previous customers have high praise for the bike.
‘I love this bike, my husband put it together very easily, it’s so fun to ride, the seat is very comfy, excellent value, looks so cute and retro,’ one woman said.
‘It is lovely to ride and it has an alloy frame so it is very light,’ another agreed.

The store sells smaller cruiser bikes for kids and teenagers, including a light pink 50 Bella cruiser bike for $119, and a 40cm lilac cruiser bike for $99.
One mum said she loves the range so much she owned three of the cruiser bikes at one point.

Others say the bikes were big hits with their kids and get used often.
‘My daughter has this bike. Absolutely loves it,’ one woman said.

She bought the bike and used a $8 tin of Bunnings pink paint to give the bike a makeover.
