Young mother reveals she ‘almost died’ after going to Turkey for a Brazilian Butt Lift – and labels herself a ‘silly girl’
A young mum revealed she ‘almost died’ after going under the knife for a Brazilian Butt Lift in Turkey.
Sophie Dewey, from Southampton, revealed the cosmetic surgery went wrong and she developed sepsis.
The mother-of-two, took to her TikTok @sophiadeweyx to open up about her BBL nightmare.
In a video, which racked up over 1.4million views, Sophie showed clips from after her surgery, in which fat is removed from other parts of the body and injected directly into the muscles of the buttocks themselves, giving them a larger, curvier form.
She captioned the video: ‘I get asked often about what happened after my BBL. Choose safely and be aware of the risks.’
On the video she wrote: ‘The time I went to Turkey for a BBL and nearly died.
Over footage of her white sheets covered in blood she wrote: ‘Woke up a bit traumatised.’
Sophie was ready to head home, but she felt something wasn’t right saying: ‘My hip started to get really hot.’
She shared a snap of her leg, which had developed a large red raised lump on her thigh.
She continued: ‘Woke up in hospital after an emergency operation. Oh dear I have sepsis.’
She then had to have another operation, but moments later, we saw her perk up, as she shared: ‘Feeling much better.’
Sarah explained that after two weeks she was able to walk again and was able to leave the hospital.

The TikToker showed that she had dark bruising under her arm as she was recovering from the surgery
Brazilian butt lift surgery uses liposuction to remove fat from the lower body and then the extracted fat is purified and injected into specific points on the buttocks to achieve the desired shape and size.
She said: ‘After two weeks I was able to walk again. Making myself at home. Happy to be alive and allowed to leave, with my machine of course. The staff were all amazing, very grateful.’
As she filmed herself in the mirror to show off her new figure, she wrote: ‘Silly girl. Won’t be doing that again.’
Social media users were quick to take to the comments to share their support for Sophie.
