Astrologer Russell Grant reveals secret brain cancer battle after having a tumour removed during five-hour operation before Christmas

Russell Grant has revealed he has battled brain cancer and had a tumour on his pituitary gland removed before Christmas in a new statement.

The astrologer and TV personality, 71, thanked the ‘A-team’ of medics who completed the operation during a five-hour removal procedure.

Russell said that he is now recovering following the invasion operation as he shared the news with his Twitter followers on Tuesday.

The former Strictly Come Dancing star also honoured the ‘caring nurses’ at Alex Hospital and YG Bangor hospital who looked after him at the time.

The post read: ‘Before Christmas I had a brain tumour removed by the A-Team Prof Pathmanban, Dr Bhalla, Dr Kearney, the caring nurses & Vicky Walsh of Alex Hospital Manchester & Dr Wilton YG Bangor.

Alongside the statement, Russell posted a smiling picture of himself wearing his beloved Wealdstone FC shirt.
